CYSTIC FIBROSIS PROGRAM

In association with Cystic Fibrosis Australia and Biocell are able to offer FREE collections to families with a history of Cystic Fibrosis. This program runs in parallel with an exciting research program being undertaken at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute under the direction of Prof Bob Williamson. Prof Williamson's group are isolating "unrestricted stem cells" from cord blood samples and exploring methods for growing these into lung cells. Ultimately it is hoped that the cord blood samples being stored now may be used for the treatment of children with cystic fibrosis.
