Biocell is committed to ensuring that all your personal data that is collected is kept private and confidential. The nature of our business means we must collect sensitive information from you. Our Medical Directors are themselves practicing medicos, who have guided us on the standards and expectations the patient has of the doctor-patient relationship. Our Privacy Policy fulfils these standards. We of course comply with Australian laws on Privacy, in particular the
Privacy Act 1988.
Biocell has two parts to its Privacy Policy. Part I deals with confidential information we hold about you, through your engagement of Biocell to store your baby's cord blood stem cells. The confidential information about you is collected through
- The Biocell Cord Blood Processing and Storage Agreement (which includes the Medical Questionnaire)
- Results of tests performed on mother and baby's cord blood
Part II deals with confidential information we hold about you, during your use of our website. By using the Biocell website, you signify your acceptance of Part II of our Privacy Policy.

Website Privacy
On our Website, we collect personal data when you request

Personal data may include details such as your name, postal and e-mail address, telephone number, and the best time to contact you. You may wish to supply other information as well. On the Website, we do not collect sensitive data (such as data relating to health, your racial or ethnic origin, or religious or other beliefs).
Any such data will be maintained in our offices in Melbourne in electronic format, and consistent with our commitment to you and with Privacy Laws.

Please note that children under 18 years should not provide personal data to Biocell without supervision by a parent or guardian.

We may use your de-identified data in order to analyse our customer base, and statistical information may be shared with third parties such as our parent company CordLife - but we'll keep it anonymous.
We will never rent or sell our customer lists to any other organisation or individual.

The Site has security installed to ensure that any personal data entered onto the Site is protected against loss, misuse or alteration. However, due to the nature of the Internet, we can't guarantee the protection of your personal data and we can't be responsible for any outcomes resulting from a breach of security when the Site is used.
We are confident with our security arrangements, we monitor our site for problems, and we regularly review our security arrangements. We treat data confidentiality as a high priority in our business operations.
